More on the “Welcome Wagon”
Went to mow the lawn and discovered two more items are missing from the garage… this is stuff that I must have overlooked the other day: A gas can (for the lawnmower gas) and a weed-eater.
Bought a replacement gas can, filled the mower, started mowing. Discovered that my thieves from the other night had actually CUT THE CHAIN-LINK FENCE at the rear of our property to get in there.
Called the police / made a police report. Discussed with the officer improving the lighting in the back of the property.
Introduced myself to Frank, our neighbor to the rear. His large property is bordered on three sides by multiple properties. Advised him about our break-in and about the fence. He’s going to repair the fencing sometime soon. Obviously, his property is too large for him to possibly know what’s going on on it all the time. I’m thinking about having Power & Light come out and install one of those sodium lights on a pole near that fence-line. But that would cost about $13 per month… forever. So, I’m holding off for now. Going to try motion-sensors and lights first.
I invited Frank to the neighborhood association meeting tonight.
