(Here are links to the photos Rich sent me of his house:

<a href="http://www.myoldhouse.com/images/submitted_photo_1.jpg" / rel="nofollow">Photo 1
<a href="http://www.myoldhouse.com/images/submitted_photo_3.jpg"  / rel="nofollow">Photo 3
)

Rich,

My guess would be that this is of the "Cape Cod" style home, except that it appears to be built "one story higher", as if one were to build a basement, but make it above-ground-level, or build a basement, but have it sit partially inside a hill (like a home I used to own).

See here:
http://architecture.about.com/od/periodsstyles/ig/House-Styles/colonial-cape-cod-2268048.htm
There's a nice list of features for Cape Cods, many of which seem to fit your home.

The Cape Cod style is apparently considered to be a subgroup of the overall "Colonial" architectural style.

Admittedly, yours appears to be a LARGE Cape Cod, with a wrap-around porch, which makes it look even BIGGER. But I think if you observe the roof, the windows, and the overall symmetry of the home. and then if you go view some websites like at the above link or this one: http://www.oldhouseweb.com/architecture-and-design/architectural-housing-styles/

And if you then start looking at photos of the various design styles, plus lists of qualifying features well, it seems to me that Cape Cod fits best. But somebody who puts more time into looking might come up with something different.

Well, I'm certainly not an expert by far... but I'd be willing to see them. I'm sending you a separate email, so you'll have my email address to send to. But I would recommend posting them on some website (or even Facebook), so that perhaps other visitors here might chime in.

I am looking for someone to help me identify what type of house I bought in 2010. It was built in 1920 and I have a few photos that I would like to submit for you/someone to review to try and help me identify my new home on the beach in Ocean City, NJ.

Thank you!
