Photos from a few weeks ago… plus more kitchen remodel news
Greetings All !
I’ve just uploaded some photos I took about three weeks ago…. sorry I’m so behind on this. They’re just a few shots showing:
a) The material my wife has picked out for the kitchen curtains. (She has custom ordered these from JC Penney.)
b) How the kitchen looked after the wallpaper was put up.
The wallpaper itself is sort of a black-pintstripe-on white pattern, but the white background has been “antiqued” a bit with a bit of browning / yellowing. I seriously had my doubts about this, but once the whole project is finished, I’m sure it will look fine.
As I write this, just yesterday, “Nani’s Impresa” finished installing both our backsplash and our tin ceiling. The backsplash is made of metal / tin in a design very similar to (but smaller than) the pattern that makes up the tin ceiling. I haven’t taken snap-shots yet, but I hope to do so and to have them uploaded by the end of the week.
Nani’s Impresa is a husband-and-wife team out of Lawrence, Kansas (soon to be moved to Atchison, Kansas, I believe). We found out about them from a prominent tin ceiling manufacturer’s website. They were the only recommended installer within 200 miles of us.
We are very happy with their work and their work-ethic !! We’ll see them one more time, as they will oversee things when MasterCraft kitchens comes back out (hopefully this week) to install the crown molding… this time, all the way around the kitchen.
We highly recommend Nani’s Impresa !!
We haven’t had any recent problems with the house (knock on wood!)…. nor have we made any other changes…. except:
This past weekend, I removed a section of fencing and a gate on the south side of our house, right off of the kitchen. Fortunately, it wasn’t a very difficult job. But why is it fences always seem to attract the most stubborn, branch-filled, root-filled bush… to grow RIGHT UP THE CENTER of them ??
We had a nice weekend. Saturday got up to 74 degrees! It was a wonderful spring day! After taking down that fence, I spent an hour or two enjoying the front porch once again.
Thanks!
