Stove Arrives and “Kitchen Before” Pics!
Greetings All !
Well, knowing that plans on our kitchen remodel are progressing, I’ve posted some “before” pics of the kitchen.
You’ll also find there some photos of our brand new 1850’s reproduction stove:

We purchased this stove from DirectKitchenSource.com ! They gave us the best deal ! They answered all of our questions and helped us through the ordering process. Also, when we begged them to send us a sample of the metal/color that the stove would be made of, they did so! This allowed us to start color-matching other components of our kitchen remodel right away!
North American Van Lines did the delivery. They were FANTASTIC !! Highly recommended! They treated that stove with EXTREME CARE!
The stove itself was manufactured in Canada by a company called “Elmira Stoveworks”. However, they do not sell directly, so… to get the best deal, contact Direct Kitchen Source!
And no, I don’t get any sort of “kick-back” from these companies for saying that.
This stove is my wife’s new toy! And I’ll confess that she doesn’t even cook that much. But she LOVES how it looks.
We’re currently working on selecting a countertop material and a back-splash material. Currently, for the countertop, we’re leaning towards a black quartz-like substance produced by Du Pont. We’re really not sure on a backsplash yet.
Oh… and my wife is hunting for wallpaper. She’s leaning towards something old-fashioned and a bit country-french. I’ve promised to do some online-hunting for her for some actual reproduction wallpaper.
But real life interrupts: our circa - 1994 dishwasher stopped working properly last night. It stopped agitating / splashing the water around. It still fills, drains, and heats the heating element. It just never throws water at the dishes!
And so, I must quickly research what’s a good, quality dishwasher to buy.
Have a great week!
